DC Tractors & Fine Turf Machinery Ltd also offer weed spraying services.  We have had our spraying licenses for 20 years and are fully qualified having City & Guilds NPTC - PA1, PA2, PA6a and PA6W.  We use our custom modified quad bike which has a 100 litre tank capacity, 4m booms, fitted bout marker system, 50m hose and hand lance and high floatation wheels and tyres for sensitive areas such as sports grounds, golf courses and other fine turf areas. Our quad bike has passed all NSTS Safety Standards and is fully road registered.

Weed Wiping
We recommend the use of the weed wiper to target certain weed species and take advantage of the difference in height of taller weeds and the shorter plants like grasses and clover which you may wish to preserve.  The chemical is only transferred when the tall weed comes into contact with the applicator leaving the shorter plants unaffected.  As well as being a much more environmentally friendly way of applying herbicides weed wiping is also very cost effective as it uses much less chemical than spraying and there is no waste.  Weed wiping can be used on any weed that has a height difference between the weed and the required species.  Commonly targeted weeds are thistle, rush, bracken, nettle, ragwort, docks, woodland weeds, rhododendron, gorse etc.
